Summer is here in full force. I need summer clothes and I am tired of ready to wear that never fits right. Most RTW falls apart in about a year or less, so I have decided to sew my own wardrobe.
For this project I will be sewing Simplicity 7778, copyright 1992. The shorts and the tank top are my focus. This is an easy pattern. The shorts have side seam pockets, front pleats and an elastic waistband. The tank top has no shaping or darts, just topstitching around the neckline and armholes.
The shorts will be in a pumpkin stiped linen I bought at Mood Fabrics. I plan on making 2 tank tops. 1 in an orange cotton/silk voille and a second one in a blue cotton/silk voille. The orange will go perfectly with the linen shorts. The blue, not so much but I have plenty of other items that will match it.
